Dialogues in “Hezar Dastan” to appear at calligraphy exhibit
TEHRAN –(Iranart)- An exhibition by Sepideh Mobarhan will showcase a collection of her calligraphy works featuring fascinating dialogues in “Hezar Dastan”, the 1980s popular TV series by Ali Hatami, mostly famous for his particular attention to old Tehran and its culture.
The exhibit will open at the conference hall of Nezami Ganjavi Park in Tehran on August 15 and a large number of cineastes and calligraphers have invited to the opening ceremony of the exhibit. The park is located on Tavanir St. in the Yusefabad neighborhood.
This is Mobarhan’s sixth collection featuring dialogues in Hatami’s movies.
Hatami was born in 1944 in Tehran and died in 1996. He was a filmmaker, screenwriter, art director and costume designer.
He studied cinema at the College of Dramatic Arts in Tehran and made his debut was “Hassan Kachal” (Hassan the Bald) in 1969. The movie is Iran’s first musical.
Since then, he paid particular attention to unusual rhythmic dialogues and also the use of traditional settings and architecture in his films, and stylistic details that became characteristic of his works.
“The Suitor”, “Sattar Khan”, “Haji Washington”, and “Kamalolmolk” are among Hatami’s credits.
