Yunus Emre Institute to award best Persian translations of Turkish books

TEHRAN –(Iranart)- Turkey’s Yunus Emre Institute in Tehran has announced its plan to award best Persian translations of Turkish writers’ books.

Only the works published by the permission of Iran’s Ministry Culture and Islamic Guidance between January 1, 2015 and July 20, 2017 are eligible to participate in the competition.

Original books along with their translations should be sent to the Tehran branch of the institutes until August 31, 2017.

The Yunus Emre Institute has organized several major exhibitions and meetings in Tehran over the past few years.

Earlier in April, the institute organized an exhibition of works by Turkish calligrapher Ali Riza Özcan and his fellow miniaturist and illuminator Sehnaz Biçer Özcan at the Iranian Book Design Institute in Tehran.

In 2015, the institute and Iran’s Research Institute for Cultural Heritage and Tourism jointly held a series of sessions to discuss works of designers who created architectural masterpieces in both countries during the Ottoman Empire (c. 1300-1918) and the Safavid dynasty (1501–1736).
