Special Sale at Shams Gallery

TEHRAN (Iranart) – hams Art Gallery in Tehran has held a special sale, offering a collection of artworks by prominent contemporary Iranian artists.

The special sale opened on July 7 and will run through August 7 featuring works by painter Nasrollah Afjei, 82; painter and sculptor Nasser Oveysi, 83; painter, graphic artist, writer and film critic Aydin Aghdashlou, 76; and cartoonist and graphic designer Kambiz Derambakhsh, 74, among many other celebrated artists, galleryinfo.ir reported.

Some of the works offered at the sale are by late artists including Painter Ahmad Esfandyari (1922-2013); avant-garde artist Jaze Tabatabai (1931-2008); poet and painter Sohrab Sepehri (1928-1980); painter, potter and sculptor Arabali Sherveh (1939-2011); filmmaker and photographer Abbas Kiarostami (1940-2016); painter Farideh Lashai  (1944-2013); and calligrapher Reza Mafi (1943-1981).

Shams Art Gallery is located at No. 10, Khansefid Alley, west of Niavaran Cultural Center at the northern end of Pasdaran Street, across Niavaran Park. The gallery is open all days except Thursdays. Visiting hours are from 9:30 am-7 pm.
