Iran’s Eftekharzadeh wins Austria actor award

TEHRAN. (Iranart) - Iranian artist Hadi Eftekharzadeh won the best actor award at the 45th Festival of Nations — a short film festival in Austria — for his role in 'The Cemetery Men'.

Directed by Ali Mardomi, the film took part in the competition section of the festival, sourehcinema.ir reported.

'The Cemetery Men' depicts the story of an old man working in a cemetery who spends most of his time praying for the dead.

He is, later on, joined by a young man with a beautiful singing voice who shares some events with him.

The short, 30-minute film was produced in 2015 by the Orumieh branch of the Iranian Youth Cinema Society.

International short film festival takes place in Lenzing, a small village near Lake Attersee and welcomes filmmakers from all over the world each year.

The festival shows fiction, animation and documentaries from 1 to 30 minutes duration. The event holds open discussions among jury, filmmakers and the audience right after each film.
