Spaniard to hold Fotoziti workshop

TEHRAN.(Iranart)-The upcoming event is the latest of ‘Fotoziti’ workshops which are about making fanzine, an amateur-produced magazine for a subculture of enthusiasts devoted to a particular interest

Conceptual photographer Ricardo Cases, 46, from Spain, will conduct a workshop on ‘shooting, editing and photo-book making’ in Tehran.

A group of photographers will get together to make spontaneous, chaotic and exciting pictures and portraits. The photo-book will be collectively made with the images taken by the participants.

The upcoming event will be the latest of ‘Fotoziti’ workshops which are about making fanzine, an amateur-produced magazine for a subculture of enthusiasts devoted to a particular interest.

Since 2012, Fotoziti photography workshops have been held in 13 cities across the globe.

The 3-day workshop in Tehran is slated for July 19-21 for eight hours per day and will be conducted in English language, according to Tandis (tandismag.com), a local website on visual art.

On the first day, Cases will demonstrate his relationship to photography with a review of his works, explaining about creative processes, approach, practical techniques and editing in photography. He will show and explain, with examples, different project designs.

Production of the photo-book starts on the second day. After a review of the photos taken by participants, each of them will receive a specific assignment. Cases will explain how to approach the assignments and produce the images.

Once completed and delivered, the assigned photos will be reviewed for selection on the third and final day. The selected works will then undergo editing, sequencing and layout. The result is one printed issue of Fotoziti, a new fanzine or photo-book. The fanzine will be distributed among participants in PDF format.

The workshop is open to all. Participants should have digital camera and bring along a finished photo project or a selection of their best photographs, preferably in print format. A cutter, a cutting mat and a cut ruler will come in handy.

It will be held at New Media Society located at No. 3, A’rabi 3, North Kheradmand Street, Karim Khan Blvd.
