Fajr Intl. Festival of Visual Arts announces winners

TEHRAN –(Iranart)- The 11th Fajr International Festival of Visual Arts came to an end on Wednesday during a ceremony at Tehran’s Vahat Hall attended by a number of cultural officials and artists.

The Golden Tooba Awards of the festival were presented to the Iranian artists in various sections including Parvin Heidarizadeh in illustration, Nima Elikai in calligraphy, Mitra Soltani in graphic designing, and Farid Honarvar in miniature.

Cartoonist Ehsan Ganji, sculptor Seyyed Fazel Mosalanejad, painter Rene Sahebqadam and photographer Abed Jalil Puran were also among the honorees.

In addition, nine veteran artists were awarded Golden Toobas for their lifetime achievements.

Illustrator Parviz Eqbali, painter Yaqub Emdadian, sculptor Qodratollah Memarian, land artist Ahmad Nadalian, cartoonist Seyyed Mohsen Nuri Najafi, calligrapher Ahmad Abdolrezai, photographer Jasem Ghazbanpur, miniaturist Mahin Afshanpur and Graphic designer Majid Baluch were the veteran honorees.

The 11th Fajr Festival of Visual Arts was held in Tehran in several categories from January 30 to March 6.
