Iranian ensemble Arghavaneh honored at Bulgaria World Folk festival

TEHRAN.(Iranart) – The Iranian ensemble Arghavaneh has won the bronze award at the World Folk, an international folk music championship, which took place in the Bulgarian city of Burgas.

Bandleader Mostafa Ahmadi received the Bronze Orpheus and a bronze medal of the championship from jury member Valko Lyubenov at the closing ceremony on September 3, the organizers announced.

In addition, Khosh Honar, another Iranian ensemble that is led by Aidin Bayat, was honored with the Plaque of City Hall Obzor and a certificate.

The 6-year-old Sarina Aqdam from Khosh Honar also received a diploma and a teddy bear. She was the youngest participant in the championship.

The Russian group Shondiban led by Elena Vorobyova won the Golden Orpheus, the grand prix of the event and the Georgia dance ensemble Mkhedruli led by Badri Tsetskhladze received the Silver Orpheus.

The festival ran from August 23 to September 2 in the Bulgarian city of Burgas.
