150-Year History of Iran in Photos, Documents

TEHRAN.(Iranart) - S aba Art and Cultural Institute in Tehran is holding an exhibition of photographs and documents that tell the 150-year plus history of Iran.

Organized by the Institute for Iranian Contemporary Historical Studies, the exhibition features 125 historical photos and documents covering important moments in the country including the Constitutional Revolution (1905-1911) and the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Mehr News Agency reported.

The exhibit, among other  things, covers periods of the rule of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar who was king of Persia (1848-1896), nationalization of Iran’s oil industry in 1951 and turbulent times related to and influenced by the 1953 coup d’état.

It opened on Monday and will run until September 10. Saba Institute is located at No. 1552, junction of Valiasr and Taleqani streets.
