10 Films to Compete in Annual Documentary Event
TEHRAN.(Iranart) – T he 10th prize-giving celebration for best independent documentary films, an annual event known as “Iran Documentary Independent Award Ceremony,” organized by the House of Cinema, is slated for August 22 in Tehran.
Ten documentary films have been selected from among 36 entries in the final evaluation. Awards in different categories will be presented at the ceremony to be held at the National Library of Iran, located off Haqqani Expressway, ISNA reported. Of the 10 selected films, five are long and five short and medium length. The long documentaries include “Secret of the Lake” directed by Amir Isarian, and “Searching for Farideh” by Azadeh Mousavi and Kourosh Ataee.” “Talan” directed by Mohammad Sadeq Dehqani, “Persepolis Chicago” by Orod Atapour and “Lotus” by Mohammad-Reza Vatandoust are among the short entries.
