Persian Puppet Show in Russia
TEHRAN.(Iranart) – The street theater play “A Dreamy Trip,” directed by Hamed Zarean is to be performed at the International Puppet Theater Festival “Petrushka the Great” in Russia, September 14-18.
The play written by Zarean and Abolfazl Varmazyar is a mix of traditional styles of Persian theater including naqali (traditional story telling), takam (traditional goat puppet in Azarbaijan region), parde-khani (dramatic story telling from paintings on a large painted drape) and marionette play alongside choral songs.
