Miniature paintings at Art Museum Garden

TEHRAN.(Iranart) - Iranian Art Museum Garden is showing a collection of artworks of acclaimed artist Ardeshir Mojarrad-Takestani from Friday.

On the sidelines of the exhibit titled "An Overview of Artworks", the museum will hold two workshops gratis. 

The first workshop "From Transoxiana to Mesopotamia," slated for July 7, will be on tasheer (tashir), a type of Iranian miniature painting used for decorating books. In tashir, the margins of pages are adorned with the images of flowers, plants and animals. The use of colors is limited in tashir and golden color is often highlighted. 

The second workshop, slated for July 14, will focus on Persian miniature.Mojarrad-Takestani, 69, is a graduate of Tehran Fine Arts School and renowned for his outstanding miniature artworks and paintings. Tutored by miniature master Mahmoud Farshchian, he has held many exhibitions besides teaching at the Graphic Faculty of Tehran  University. His works have been featured in several international art shows as well.

Iranian Art Museum Garden, located at Bosnia and Herzegovina Street, Fayazi Street, will host the event until July 19.
