TEHRAN.(Iranart) - The novel “English Countryside” written by French novelist, screenwriter and filmmaker Marc Dugain has been translated into Persian.

The romantic novel is translated by Parviz Shahdi and published by Parseh Book Publication.

It is a story about the loneliness and love quest of a 40-year-old English businessman in a desperate situation.

Shahdi, 81, a Sorbonne University graduate in comparative literature,  previously translated Dugain’s celebrated novels “The Officer’s Ward” and “The Curse of Edgar”.

Born in Senegal, Marc Dugain, 61, is mostly known for his first award winning novel “The Officers’ Ward” that was set in World War I. It was adapted into a screenplay by Dugain and made into a successful film in 2001 by Froncois Dupeyron. His novels have received many nominations and awards.
