Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory keen to hold training courses in Iran

TEHRAN –(Iranart)- Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory rector Alexander Sokolov has said that the conservatory is eager to provide training courses in Iran.

He made the remarks in his recent meeting with Rudaki Foundation Managing Director Ali-Akbar Safipur in Tehran, the foundation announced in a press release published on Saturday.

The two sides also agreed to organize joint performances and enhance bilateral cooperation.

Sokolov arrived in Tehran on Wednesday to visit a number of Iranian cultural centers and officials. 

He visited Tehran’s Vahdat Hall and Azadi Tower as well as the Rudaki Foundation and closely watched the rehearsal of the musicians from the Tehran Symphony Orchestra and National Orchestra who are due to perform in Russia.

Iran’s Rudaki Foundation and the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Moscow in March.

Based on the MOU, the two sides agreed to develop educational collaboration and concentrate on joint productions.

They also agreed to organize workshops in Iran and Russia, and exchange composers and students. 

The Rudaki Foundation is the organizer of concerts by Iranian and international orchestras in the country.
