Hanover LUMIX festival to display works by Iranian photographer
TEHRAN –(Iranart)- Iranian photographer Fatemeh Behbudi’s collection “Life after Shock” will go on view at the 6th LUMIX Festival for Young Photojournalism, which will be held in the German city of Hanover from June 20 to 24.
The black and white collection depicts scenes from the dramatic situation of those Iranian people who have survived three earthquake disasters over the past few years, the organizers have announced.
The works will be showcased at 60 exhibitions that the LUMIX festival is scheduled to organize.
In the 60 exhibitions, the stories vary between current political topics and stories of daily life. They are visually told in the form of reportages, essays or documentaries. Over 1500 pictures have been selected for the exhibitions.
According to Behbudi, “Life after Shock” is a project that covers three huge earthquakes in the Iranian cities of Tabriz in 2012, Bushehr in 2013 and Kermanshah in 2017.
“My major concern is about the life of Iranians and the earthquake, that is, the Iranian structures lack sufficient safety, and most of the quake victims are from Iran,” she has said.
