Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory rector Alexander Sokolov visits Tehran

TEHRAN –(Iranart)- Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory rector Alexander Sokolov arrived in Tehran on Wednesday to visit a number of Iranian cultural centers and officials.

Sokolov met Iranian Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini and held talks with Rudaki Foundation Managing Director Ali-Akbar Safipur, the foundation announced.

He is also due to visit Tehran’s Vahdat Hall and Azadi Tower.

Iran’s Rudaki Foundation and the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Moscow to enhance bilateral cooperation in March.

Based on the MOU signed on the sidelines of the 14th Iran-Russia Joint Economic and Trade Cooperation Commission, the two sides agreed to develop educational collaboration and concentrate on joint productions.

They also agreed to organize workshops in Iran and Russia, and exchange composers and students. 

The Rudaki Foundation is the organizer of concerts by major Iranian and international orchestras in the country.
