Sound of Sorna in Ancient City of Seymareh
TEHRAN –(Iranart)- The ancient city of Seymareh in Darreh Shahr County, Ilam Province, is hosting the first edition of a three-day music festival of ‘Sornawa’ that began on Sunday.
A number of performances by veteran players of sorna, which is an ancient Iranian woodwind instrument, will be performed. The festival will also present articles on the sorna and its history, ISNA reported Sadeq Cheraghi, the scientific secretary of the festival, as saying.
Sorna players Morad-Ali Nejatpour and Alidoust Falahati, folk singer and sorna player Hemmat-Ali Rezaei and folk singer Hossein Faraji will be commended at the event.
