Paris Museum Screens Ibrahim Mokhtari’s ‘Saffron’

TEHRAN –(Iranart)- A uditorium Jean Rouch of Musée de l’Homme, an anthropology museum in Paris hosted the screening of Ibrahim Mokhtari’s documentary film ‘Saffron’ on Saturday.

‘Saffron’, made in 1990, portrays the plight of farmers growing saffron in Iran. The documentary has been honored at festivals in Italy and Japan among others,

Some extracts from Mokhtari’s other award-winning documentary ‘Leaf of Life’ was also shown in the session and was attended by the director, according to the public relations manager of the film.

Feature-length film ‘Leaf of Life’, his latest work, narrates the story of a man who agrees to plant and harvest saffron to be able to earn money he needs to buy a house. Mokhtari got the idea for this film when he was shooting Saffron.

In February, Leaf of Life won the INALCO Prix at the 24th Vesoul Festival of Asian Cinema held in the commune of Vesoul in eastern France.
