Adoption Followed by Sacrifice
TEHRAN.(Iranart) – T he play ‘The Caucasian Chalk Circle’ by renowned German modernist playwright Bertolt Brecht is being performed at City Theater.
One of Brecht’s most celebrated works, it tells the story of Grusha, a peasant girl, who sacrifices her happiness for the sake of an abandoned child she adopts.
The performance is directed by Mahmoud-Reza Rahimi and has Anahita Khosravi, Mitra Sarollahi, Bahram Haj-Jafari, Pardis Rafei, Rosa Karimi and Nima Labkhandeh in the cast, Tiwall.com wrote.
City Theater located at the crossroads of Enqelab and Vali-e-Asr streets will host the play through January 17.
