Through Fire and Flames

TEHRAN.(Iranart) – M ajid Alambeigi has directed a play titled ‘Siavash Through Fire’ that is currently being staged at Tehran Theater Campus in southeastern Tehran.

The play is based on a tale in Shahnameh (The Grand Book), the epic poem written by celebrated Persian poet Ferdowsi (940-1020), revolving around Siavash, a legendary Iranian prince from the early days of the Persian Empire.

A handsome young man, his name literally means “the one with the black stallion”. Siavash is the symbol of innocence in Iranian literature.

His defense of his own chastity, self-imposed exile, loyalty to his wife and ultimate execution at the hands of his host have become intertwined with Iranian mythology and literature over the past millennia.

Director Alambeigi also performs in the play, along with Ahmad Davoudi, Maryam Radpour, Bahman Rouzbahani, Maryam Asgari and Hassan Qadimi.

The campus is located in Khavaran District on South Shahabadi Street.
