Memoirs of Iranian interrogator at Iraqi prisoners’ camp published

TEHRAN.(Iranart) – A memoirs of an Iranian interrogation officer from a camp of Iraqi prisoners of war has been published in a book by Sureh-Mehr in Tehran

The Officers with Red Boots” was unveiled at the Art Bureau in Tehran during a ceremony, which was attended by the interrogation officer, Morteza Bashiri, writer Fatemeh Behbudi and a number of cultural figures.

Art Bureau director Mohsen Momeni-Sharif compared the book to a compelling detective story and expressed his hope that the book would be the beginning of a new direction in the genre of literature that had flourished following the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, which is called the Sacred Defense in Iran.

“We treated the Iraqi prisoners in a way that they felt at ease around of us,” Bashiri said.

“Sometimes, we talked with some of them all through the night without using any pressure,” he stated.
