City Theater of Tehran

  • Directed by Mehdi Sabbaghi, new play Rabbit Hole has gone on stage in the Sayeh Hall of Tehran’s City Theater. You can watch the new play until 4 June. Rabbit Hole is a play written by David Lindsay-Abaire. It was the recipient of the 2007 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

  • Directed by Shahab Agahi, new play Prometheus/Plague has gone on stage at the Tehran City Theater’s Charsou Hall. You can watch this exciting play until 4 January.

  • Directed by Masoud Delkhah, King Lear has gone on stage at City Theater of Tehran until 7 December. King Lear is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare. It depicts the gradual descent into madness of the title character, after he disposes of his kingdom by giving bequests to two of his three daughters egged on by their continual flattery, bringing tragic consequences for all.

  • Directed by Fariborz karimi, new play Escher’s Painting has gone on stage at the City Theater of Tehran until 22 November.

  • TEHRAN – (Iranart)- On Friday, 9 November, prominent Iranian critics and university lecturers will discuss the nature of Shakespeare’s works, their resonance in his plays, and in today’s writing and thinking in the main hall of Shahr’s Café at the City Theater of Tehran on Valiasr Crossroad.

  • Written and directed by Hossein Alambakhsh, new play Khatoun has gone on stage in the main hall of City Theater of Tehran until 5 November.

  • A collection of plays written by Mahmoud Ostad Mohammad was unveiled during a ceremony at the City Theater of Tehran. Mohammad Rahmanian, Shahram Gilabadi, and Abolfazl Poorarab were among the special guests and fans to also honor the late Iranian playwright. Seasoned Iranian playwright and stage director Mahmoud Ostad Mohammad has passed away on July 25, 2013.
