Fused figures at Iranshahr Gallery

TEHRAN.(Iranart) - Painter Zhaleh Talebpour is holding an exhibition of oil paintings with semblances of sketch art.

Staying Away’ (in Persian: Hazar) is the title of the exhibit. Human figures often in congregation are the most frequent subject in the works. They are often fused together with missing parts left blank.

The exhibit opened August 18 and will run through August 28 at Iranshahr Art Gallery. Visiting hours are 12 noon to 8 pm, and on Thursdays from 12-7. The gallery is closed Saturdays, according to Art Galleries (artgalleries.ir).

Avant-garde painter Aidin Khankeshipour has curated the exhibit. In a statement for the event, he says it is the sum of all of Talebpour’s artistic experience.

In her works, she only hints at the congregations. Figures are much like patches, “perhaps just like memory patches we are left with.”

Iranshahr Art Gallery is located at No. 69/1, Sepand Street, Azodi Street, Karim Khan Blvd.
