Aqamiri’s Paintings at Azadi Tower Gallery

TEHRAN.(Iranart)- n exhibition of Persian paintings (Iranian school of miniature) by Mohammad-Baqer Aqamiri is currently underway at Azadi Tower Gallery in Tehran.

Titled ‘Roudaki’, the exhibit shows artworks created using gouache and watercolor on cardboard. A veteran artist in the field of miniature, Aqamiri’s paintings are based on the poems of the celebrated Persian poet Roudaki (858-941), Honaronline reported.

Aqamiri, 67, holds a master’s degree in graphics from the faculty of Fine Arts, University of Tehran. He won a gold medal from Algeria International exhibition in 1987.

His precious and valuable artworks have been shown at over 60 exhibitions in Hungary, the UK, Canada, China, Switzerland, Cyprus, India, Japan, Turkey and the US among other countries.

He has painted and pictured about 40 books on historical, religious and artistic topics. Aqamiri is the director of the Iranian Miniature Society and teaches in several universities. Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art keeps 10 works created by the renowned artist.

The gallery located inside Azadi Tower, Azadi Square in west Tehran, will be open until August 4.
