Artists Forum Hosts Ceramic Exhibition on ‘Frontier

TEHRAN.(Iranart) - he Ad Academy of Visual Arts in Tehran will hold the second ceramic-based exhibition on July 21-August 4.

Titled ‘Frontier,’ the exhibit will be hosted by the Iranian Artists Forum, located on Iranshahr Street in central Tehran, Galleryinfo.ir reported.

The show will feature a number of ceramic-based artworks by the artists who have been asked to ponder over the concept of borders in the contemporary world.

Frontiers can be defined in geographical demarcations, social and individual boundaries, gender distinctions, social and cultural differences, beliefs and artistic values, said a statement by the exhibit organizers.

Participants of the exhibition, who submitted their works to the event’s secretariat by the end of January, had been tasked to explore the current challenges in the contemporary world in relation to the significance of borders or the problems associated with them.

Artworks to be featured are various interpretations on the concept of borders, which is among the main concerns in the Middle East today and the ongoing conflicts in the region resulting in the migrant crisis in Europe.

Artworks are not necessarily of ceramic. They are objects, images and soundtracks associated with the feel or memory of a ceramic item. They are in painting, sculpture, photograph, sound arrangement or performance art.

The first ceramic-based exhibition was held in December 2015 at Niavaran Cultural Center in Tehran.
