Artistic Diversity in ‘Tooba’s Sign’

TEHRAN.(Iranart) - K horshid Art Gallery in Tehran is hosting a multidisciplinary exhibition set up by a large number of artists who call themselves Nili Art Group.

A total of 32 artists are participating in the exhibit dubbed “Tooba’s Sign,” according to the Persian website of Onlineartgallery.ir.

On view are photographs, paintings and sculptures inspired by the concept of Tooba, a mythical tree in Islamic narratives, mentioned once in the Qur’an. Muslims believe the tree grows in Heaven.

The show opened on Friday and will run through September 18. The gallery is located at Unit 1, 1st floor, No. 70, Toor Street, Nelson Mandela Blvd., south of Niayesh Tunnel.

Nili Art Group is led by painter and sketch artist Elaheh Nikpey, 37, and photographer and translator Babak Ajami, 41. Established in 2010, the group includes artists from diverse fields, namely painters, graphic designers, photographers, performance artists and musicians.
