TEHRAN.(Iranart) - W orks by eight Iranian artists are on view at the Algeria International Calligraphy and Illumination Art Festival, underway in El Madania Municipality in the capital Algiers.
It is the 10th edition of the festival which opened September 13 and will run for six days at the Moufdi Zakaria Culture Palace.
A total of 79 calligraphers, illumination artists and miniaturists have presented 131 artworks to the festival. The participating works are from Iran, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Western Sahara, Turkey, Palestine, Pakistan, the UAE, Jordan, Syria, India, Bangladesh and Yemen, IRNA reported.
Training workshops are being held on the sidelines of the event. One workshop is conducted by Iranian master calligrapher Amir-Ahmad Falsafi, 60. Some of his works are on view at the festival.
Other participants from Iran are illumination artists Zeynab Shahi, Nesa Gholam-Rezaee and Darya Hossein-Qoli-Novin; calligraphers Babak Hejazi and Habib Ramezanpour; and miniaturists Dariush Jalilian and Bahman Sharifi.
