TEHRAN.(Iranart) – A n exhibition of photos and copies of documents related to the history of collaboration between the United Nations and Iran opened on Monday at Soureh Gallery of Bahman Cineplex in Sanandaj, Kurdistan Province.
The event was attended by Maria Dotsenko, director of the United Nations Information Center in Tehran, ISNA reported.
It is part of an agreement between the Islamic Republic News Agency and UNIC for holding UN-Iran Historical Photos and Documents Exhibition in cities across Iran. Shiraz and Bushehr are two cities that have so far hosted the exhibit.
On display are 66 photos from the past seven decades, starting in 1945, the year the world body was founded.
Photos at the event have been loaned from the archives of UNIC, IRNA and the Institute for Iranian Contemporary Historical Studies.
Iran, as a founding member of the UN, was among the first countries to have a UNIC in 1948.
