Best of World Press Photos on Display
TEHRAN –(Iranart)- A selection of 141 photos from the 2016 to 2018 World Press Photo went on show at Niavaran Cultural Center on May 10 and is open until June 1.
Launched by the Netherlands Embassy, Iranian Photojournalist Association and the United Nations Information Center in Iran, the exhibit features winners of World Press Photo annual contests. The photos represent the best images taken by photojournalists and documentary photographers, ILNA reported.
“Subjects of the winning photos include the environment, nature, everyday life and news’’, said the Dutch curator Laurens Korteweg, director of exhibitions at World Press Photo. The organizers hope the exhibition will pave the way for collaboration with Iran.
Iranian photojournalists, including award winning photographer Newsha Tavakolian, are among those whose pictures will be on show.
