Blue Vision Calls for Photos

TEHRAN.(Iranart) – B lue Vision, an international photography festival on environmental issues, is being organized by Blue Circle environmental group of Art & Ecosystem Club affiliated to the University of Tehran.

The second edition of Blue Vision has called for submission of photos. Deadline for submission is April 30, according to an email sent by the secretariat of the festival to Financial Tribune.

The main focus of this year’s festival will be on well-informed energy consumption and clean energies. Photos are required to raise awareness about clean energy, encourage economic consumption of energy, promote the use of clean energy, call for reducing pollution or express objection against destruction of environment.

Submission categories are clean energies, optimization of energy consumption, energy wastage, industrial pollution, transportation, air pollution, green cities and sustainable development.

Enthusiasts can apply for the festival by registering at Bluecirclegroup.ir. Blue Vision comprises three sections: national, international and mobile photography.

Selected photographs will be displayed at an exhibition to be held in late spring at the University of Tehran. Selected artists will be announced by the end of June.

Masoud Mokari is the secretary and Amin Mokhtari is the artistic director of the festival. The event is sponsored by Iran Fuel Conservation Company, affiliated to National Iranian Oil Company.

In a statement on its website, Blue Circle environmental group has written: “Today, destruction of environmental resources is one of the most important issues for humans. The destruction begins with wastage and pollution of water, deforestation and destruction of mountains, which could potentially lead to the annihilation of everything that we hold dear. This has a disastrous effect on the physical and psychological health of human beings, leaving a dystopian picture of the world for the generations to come, a picture too close to reality.

“Art is the most effective tool for reshaping norms, beliefs, behaviors and habits of a society. Blue Vision festival aspires to take a small step into initiating a global coalition of artists concerned about their world,” the statement continued.
