Shishegaran’s ‘Collapse’ Collection on Social Media

TEHRAN.(Iranart) - V eteran painter and designer Behzad Shishegaran is showing a collection of his paintings at a virtual exhibition he has named ‘Collapse’.

The artist is posting one piece every day on his pages in three popular social media platforms, Instagram, Facebook and Telegram. Three printed and framed copies of each artwork will be available to buyers. The original work will be for sale at a different price.

He wants to donate the proceeds of the cyber-show to buy temporary shelters  (conex boxes) for those who lost their homes after the 7.3 earthquake in Kermanshah Province, Honaronline reported.

The killer quake struck Kermanshah and bordering regions of Iraq on November 12. It killed over 500 people, wounded thousands and left large numbers homeless.

Shishegaran has employed collage technique in his paintings in this collection, all of which are influenced by the earthquake.  

Born in Tehran, Shishegaran, 65, graduated from the Tehran School of Fine Arts in painting and later got his degree in graphic design from Tehran University of Art. Since 1971, he has created 18 collections of artworks, many of which were published in and outside Iran.

The two-week online sale will continue through December 24.
