Painting Exhibition of Iranian Women in Baku

TEHRAN.(Iranart) – A n exhibition of paintings by contemporary Iranian women artists is underway at Vajiha Samedova Art Gallery in Baku, Azerbaijan, November 24-30.

A total of 45 paintings by Mahvash Soheili, Rahil Qavami and Hanieh Azmoodeh are on show, IRNA reported.

Soheili has used expressionistic techniques in the form and context of her 16 works. There are 15 paintings by Azmoodeh that show landscapes from the picturesque northern regions in Iran. Qavami is showing 14 paintings of realistic expressionism.

The exhibition is in line with joint cultural events between the two neighboring countries initiated to help bolster cultural bonds. Azeri and Iran cultural weeks as well as art exhibitions and poetry festivals are among the joint programs.

The event is organized in cooperation with the Iran Embassy in Baku and the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan.

Iran’s Ambassador Javad Jahangirzadeh and Asghar Farsi, the cultural attaché as well as Edalat Valiev, the deputy culture minister of Azerbaijan attended the opening ceremony.
