Ankara Hosting Photos of Iranian Tourist Attractions

TEHRAN.(Iranart) – A n exhibition of 200 photos from Iran’s tourist attractions taken by Turkish photographers opened in Ankara, Turkey, on Oct. 24.

The event marks the 40th foundation anniversary of Ankara Photographers Association (AFSAD), IRNA reported.

A total of 21 photographers captured the sights during their seven-day journey to Tehran, Isfahan, Yazd and Shiraz. During their trip, they mainly focused on cultural and social attractions as well as monuments of Iran.

Hossein Safarkhani, cultural adviser of Iran’s Embassy in Turkey, appreciated the work of the photographers and invited Turkish artists and media personalities to visit Iran.

“Iran and Turkey have a lot in common, yet each side does not know the other well,” he added.

Safarkhani noted that Iran’s Embassy is willing to give opportunities for Iranian and Turkish photographers to conduct photography projects in both countries.

Founded in 1977, AFSAD is a non-governmental organization seeking to develop the art of photography in Turkey.

The exhibition hosts visitors until Oct. 27.
