TEHRAN.(Iranart)-Acclaimed Iranian playwright, theater director and actor Amir Dezhakam, 54, is to stage his latest play ‘Lotus & Oil’ on July 23 at Tehran’s Iranshahr Theater.
Written and directed by Dezhakam, ‘Lotus & Oil’ is a 75-minute play about a wedding ceremony in which attendants keep waiting for the arrival of the bridegroom. He has run away from the wedding, they assume; but the truth is something else.
It will run through August 21. Prolific theater director and actress Maneli Hosseinpour, 31, and playwright, theater director and actor Soroush Taheri, 35, are among the cast, according to Tiwall.com where tickets are available.
Other cast members include Morteza Aqahosseini, Abbas Jamshidi, Sepid Alipour, Mehrnoush Dara, Fariba Aminian, Somayeh Sabbaghi, Paria Vaziri, Ali Borji, Abolfazl Jamshidi, Maliheh Kia, Hamed Pourmohammad, Nasim Alipour and Bahar Qasemi.
Kermani Hall of Iranshahr Theater will host the performance which starts at 7 pm. The venue is located on south Art Garden, Iranshahr Street, Karimkhan Avenue.
A press briefing for the play is to be held on July 22, at Iranshahr Café Gallery, located on the second floor of Iranshahr Theater. Director Dezhakam and a number of cast members will be present.
