TEHRAN. (Iranart) he play ‘If You Were to Die,’ by postmodernist French novelist and playwright Florian Zeller, 37, will go on stage in Tehran from July 23.
Zeller’s third play titled ‘Si Tu Mourais’ in French will be staged at Kermani Hall of Iranshahr Theater by Iranian actress and theater director Samaneh Zandinejad, 32, winner of the best directing prize at the 30th Fajr Theater Festival in Tehran, for her play ‘Welcome to the Memorial Service.’
It is rendered in Persian by translator, actress and theater director Sanaz Fallahfard, 34, who has translated other plays by the French writer including ‘Before Flying Away’, ‘The Mother’, ‘An Hour of Tranquility’ and ‘The Father.’
The play was nominated for Globe de Cristal, a French award bestowed by members of the French Press Association recognizing excellence in home art and culture, Mehr News Agency reported.
It will run for a month. Cast is yet to be announced.
