TEHRAN.(Iranart) – T he Institute of Veteran Artists in Tehran is to hold a charity stage reading of ‘Gosforth’s Fete’ a short play by prolific English playwright and director Alan Ayckbourn.
The event is scheduled for three days starting January 11 and aims to help the victims of the 7.3 magnitude quake that struck the western province of Kermanshah and regions bordering Iraq on November 12 claiming over 500 lives, injuring more than 10,000 and leaving thousands homeless.
As all the proceeds of the event will go to earthquake victims, no price has been set for the tickets which are to be sold at the venue before the performance begins, ISNA.
Translated and directed by the veteran actor Sirous Ebrahimzadeh, 80, the 60-minute play is about a fete in a village organized by a man named Gosforth. Despite the normal beginning, it develops into chaos and as things continue to go wrong the play climaxes into a full-fledged disaster.
Farzaneh Neshatkhah, Mahmoud Akbar-Shahi, Hamidreza Hayat and Fatemeh Arab-Kiani will be reading the roles.
