TEHRAN –(Iranart)- rasbaran Cultural Center in Tehran will play host to a pop concert competition attended by celebrated artists on August 10.
The concert is a pop edition of the series of ‘1,000 Voices’ (in Persian: ‘1,000 Seda), a program organized under the auspices of Tehran Municipality’s Organization of Art and Culture and Arasbaran Cultural Center, according to musiceiranian.ir, a local music news website.
It is conducted in the form of a competition with expert reviews and analyses on the pieces performed. On Thursday, actor, writer, lyricist, TV presenter, filmmaker Mohammad Saleh Ala, 64, will join the expert panel to review and evaluate the performances.
Other jury members are pop singer Mani Rahnama and actor and pop musician Pedram Keshtkar, both have attended earlier editions of the program for evaluation of the works.
Young and amateur musicians will perform their works and await the jury decision. Among the participants of the concert is actor and singer Mohammad Reza Hedayati, 44, best known for his comedy roles in TV series directed by Mehran Modiri, 50, a prolific filmmaker, TV director, comedian and musician. Hedayati will appear as guest singer.
The next pop edition of 1,000 Voices is slated for September 12. Arasbaran Cultural Center is located on Jolfa Street near Seyed-Khandan Bridge.
