Iran-Iraq war front-line musicians honored in Tehran

TEHRAN –(Iranart)- Members of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra who went to the front lines during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war to give performances for Iranian troops were honored during a ceremony held at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on Saturday.

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Abbas Salehi and Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini were among the participating guests.

The Tehran Symphony Orchestra organized the performances during the war to boost the spirits of the soldiers.

Vocalists Mohammad Golriz, Rashid Vatandoost and Mehrdad Kazemi were among the honorees.

The ceremony came to an end with a performance by the Tehran Symphony Orchestra.
