Kamkars Concert Slated for Early Sept.
TEHRAN. (Iranart) - K amkars music group will hold a concert “Endless Desert” in Tehran early September.
Royal Hall of Spinas Hotel located at Street 39, Abedi Blvd., north of Parvaz Park, Sa’adatabad neighborhood, is the venue of the concert slated for September 4, Mehr New Agency reported.
The Kamkars music ensemble was founded in 1965 as a family music group by Hassan Kamkar. It is a Kurdish family of seven brothers and a sister, all from the city of Sanandaj, the capital of Kurdistan Province.
The popular group has recorded numerous folkloric albums and single tracks. In 1997 it founded the Kamkars Music Institution in Tehran.
At the upcoming concert, the Kamkars will perform a repertoire of Kurdish and Persian songs including “Endless Desert” based on a poem by the 13th century Persian poet Rumi, “In Loneliness” by Payam Behtash, and “My House is Cloudy” a poem by Nima Youshij.
