Anthology of Qeisar Aminpur poetry published in London

TEHRAN.(Iranart) – A selection of poems by Qeisar Aminpur, the most influential poet of the post-revolution literature, has recently been published in English in London.

The London Academy of Iranian Studies Press has released “Selected Poems of Qeysar Aminpour” based on an agreement with the Translation Department of the Art Bureau in Tehran, Mohammad-Javad Aseman, a secretary of the department, told the Persian service of MNA on Monday.

The book has been translated into English by Seyyed Sadreddin Safavi. 

The book is a follow-up to a program launched by the academy and the department to translate anthologies of contemporary Persian poetry into English.

Two collections containing pieces from poets Ali Musavi Garmarudi and Alireza Qazveh have previously published in this program.

“Over the past three decades, Persian poetry has been deeply indebted to Qeisar Aminpur who has an incomparable place in our contemporary poetry,” Aseman said. 

Poems were selected for the collection in observance of the interests of world readers, he noted. 

He said that works by Hushang Ebtehaj, Salman Harati, Mohammadreza Shafiei Kadkani and several other literati will be published in the coming parts of the program.
