Int’l art festival celebrates gift of life

TEHRAN.(Iranart)- The festival ‘Count Me In’ will open on July 31 and run for a week.

To celebrate and promote blood donation, the Tehran Blood Transfusion Center is to host an international festival of painting, cartoon and illustration at the premises of its Vesal branch, located on Vesal Shirazi Street in Tehran.

The festival ‘Count Me In’ will open on July 31 and run for a week, during the National Blood Transfusion Week, according to the website of Iranian Illustrators Society (http://www.casi.ir).

Iranian Artists Forum, Tehran Municipality’s General Health Department and Red Crescent Society of Tehran Province are co-sponsors of the event.

Submission of artworks started on June 14, (World Blood Donor Day), an occasion the World Health Organization (WHO) has used to emphasize the role of every individual in preparing for the next unforeseen emergency by donating blood.

Works can be submitted until July 11. Enthusiasts can refer at Telegram channel @tbtc_festival for registration.

Topics of the festival include: donation of healthy blood, donation of life; regular donation of blood and its importance; blood donation in crisis; exercise, self care and regular donation; and well-informed youth and responsibility.

Artists can participate in any or all of the three categories. Painting, cartoon or illustration, they can send up to three works in each.

Festival jury will start selection of the works on July 12 and their decision will be announced on July 16. Winners will receive statues and awards
