Lacan Theories in Persian

TEHRAN.(Iranart) – A book about subjectivity in theories of French psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan has been translated in Persian.

“The Lacanian Subject: Between Language and Jouissance”, written by American psychoanalyst Bruce Fink, has been translated by Mohammad Ali Jafari from English to Persian and published by Qoqnoos Publication, ISNA reported on its website.

Jacques Marie Émile Lacan (1901-1981) is considered the most controversial psychoanalyst since Freud. His ideas had a significant impact on post-structuralism, critical theory, linguistics, 20th-century French philosophy, film theory and clinical psychoanalysis.

Bruce Fink, author of the current book, is a major English translator of Lacan’s work.

According to Amazon.com, the book presents the radically new theory of subjectivity found in the work of Lacan against the tide of post-structuralists who announce “the death of the subject”.
