TEHRAN.(Iranart) - Tehran-based Mah-o-Khorshid (moon and sun) Publication has released in Persian the complete collection of poems of well-known Irish novelist, short story writer and poet James Joyce (1882-1941).
The poems have been rendered into Persian by literary translator Farid Ghadami, Honaronline reported on its Persian website.
In 2016, Ghadami was awarded a Joyce scholarship and Looren Residency by Translation House Looren and the James Joyce Foundation of Zurich, Switzerland.
The 144-page book in Persian is titled “James Joyce: Complete Collection of Poems”. Ghdami’s thesis on the life, literature and thoughts of James Joyce is also included in the book.
Joyce is considered to be one of the most important literary figures of the 20th century, and of Ireland. Known for reworking myth into contemporary narratives, as well as incorporating the character of the city into his works, Joyce was one of the key players of modernism, whose works came to define the movement. His “Ulysses” is one of the most challenging and rewarding novels ever written.
