TEHRAN.(Iranart) – Twelve projects from Iranian architects have been honored at the 2A Asia Architecture Award (2AAA), which is held annually by 2A Magazine in Berlin.
The winners were announced during a special ceremony at the Estrel Hotel on October 20, the organizers announced.
In the Urban Projects, Rural Projects, Landscape & Public Spaces category “Hidden Pictograms Recreation of a Social/Cultural Pedestrian Path” designed by Mohammad Mohammadzedeh won the first prize.
“Isfahk Historic Village Revitalization & Restoration Project” by Faramarz Parsi and “The Pause” by Amir Hossein Ashari shared second prize in this section.
First prize in the Interior Architecture section was also presented to “Gold Gallery 28” by 2 Point studio from Iran.
Second place was also shared by “Venus Glass Office” by Reza Najafian and “Renovation of the Private Clinic” by Hamed Badri-Ahmadi and Morteza Shabanifar.
“Mohammad Rasulallah Mosque” by Paya Payrang Architectural Group and “Tehran Book Garden” by Design Core [4s] Architects & Urban Designers - Sam Tehranchi shared second prize in the Public category.
Second prize in the Old & New section went to “Triangle Cafe” by Amir-Hossein Ashari while “Villa 131” by Shervin Hosseini won third prize in the Residential category.
In the Future Projects and Innovative Designs section second prize was shared by two designs from Iran. “Coral Seafood Restaurant” by Farshad Kazeruni and Farnaz Bakhshi and Azin Soltani and “Jiroft Elementary School” by Mohammad Arab, Mina Moeineddini and Elaheh Hajdaei were the winning projects.
Florida-based Iranian architect Nader Ardalan, Indian architect Shirish Beri and Japanese architect Waro Kishi were the jury members of the 2A Asia Architecture Award.
The 2AAA is part of the 2A Continental Architectural Award. The 2A Europe Architecture Award is another part of the contest.
