TEHRAN. (Iranart) – The Tabriz Central Library and the Azerbaijan National Library have signed a memorandum of understanding, the Tabriz Central Library announced on Friday.
Tabriz library director Mehdi Deramnesari and Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs and International Relations of the Azerbaijan National Library Malak Khanim Hajiyeva inked the MOU in a meeting held on the sidelines of the 15th Tabriz International Book Fair.
Based on the MOU, the two sides agreed to exchange books and organize joint fairs to promote the culture of both countries.
Plans to translate books from both Azerbaijani and Persian literature have also been discussed by publishers from the two countries at the fair.
Azerbaijani publishers are displaying over 150 books on history, culture and civilization at the fair.
Over 140 publishing houses from 21 countries are participating in the book fair, which opened on October 24 and will come to an end on Sunday.
