Animated Series ‘Hidden Lives’ Released Online

TEHRAN.(Iranart) n Iranian short animation series titled ‘Hidden Lives’ has been released online in the past three months.

Directed by animator Edris Armaghani and produced by PAJ Animation Studio, 30 episodes of the animation have been made and released in YouTube and Aparat, American and Iranian video sharing websites respectively, Mehr News Agency reported.

Live action technique has been used in making of the series; it means the production team has mixed animated characters, which are everyday objects, with real people, whose limbs (arms and legs) only appear in the work.

So far, the episodes have had a running time of 90 seconds. They also include English subtitles so that foreign audiences can follow the stories.

The themes are usually based on social and environmental issues. Some episodes bear a comic tone while others are quite serious, however, as the director said, “all age groups can enjoy the work.”

“We also plan to produce promotional episodes based on orders placed by various institutions,” Armaghani added.

PAJ is an art studio founded by Armaghani and his two friends Yashin Nahani and Peiman Meskaranian in 2007.

The studio started its activities by making advertisements for the Middle Eastern TV channels and until now has produced over 100 TV commercials.

Further, it has produced many animations for TV channels in the Middle East countries as well as some short animated series and one feature animation.

Besides producing advertisements and animations (short, feature and serial), the studio is also involved in making music videos. One of its works ‘Peace’ was ordered by the international Red Cross.
