'“Films as Philosophy” honored at Film Book Awards;

TEHRAN –(Iranart)- Author Saleh Najafi’s series “Films as Philosophy” won the award for best book at the 8th edition of the Film Book Awards on Sunday.

A Persian translation of French screenwriter Pascal Bonitzer’s “Unframings: Painting and Cinema” by Mahdis Mohammadi received the award for best translated book.

Afraz Publications also won the award for best publishing house.

In addition, National Film Archive of Iran director Ladan Taheri, translator Vazrik Dersahakian and veteran documentarian Mohammad Tahaminejad received awards for their lifetime achievements.

The Film Book Awards is organized annually by the Iranian House of Cinema, which is the official guild of Iranian cineastes.
