TEHRAN.(Iranart) – The 12th Cinéma Vérité, Iran’s major documentary film festival, has published some comments made by celebrated German filmmaker Werner Herzog about Iran in an email sent to Austrian composer Eric Spitzer-Marlyn, the organizers announced on Friday.
“Please pass on my best wishes to the people there,” Herzog wrote to his close friend Spitzer-Marlyn, who is scheduled to be in Tehran during December to hold workshops on soundtracks in documentary films at Cinéma Vérité.
“You will visit these wonderful people with 5000 years of high culture and 5000 years of poetry,” he added.
"I feel very jealous that you can stay there,” he concluded.
Spitzer-Marlyn has worked with Herzog as a sound engineer on several film projects.
Herzog’s 2004 documentary “The White Diamond” about the history of aviation, will be screened during Spitzer-Marlyn’s workshops, which will be held on December 11 and 12.
The Cinéma Vérité festival will take place at Tehran’s Charsu Cineplex from December 9 to 16.
