Iran’s “Limit” wins awards at New York festival

TEHRAN.(Iranart) – Iranian director Javad Darai’s acclaimed short film “Limit” won two awards at the Peekskill Film Festival, which took place in New York from July 26 to 29.

“Limit” won the award for best short under 15 minutes as well as the award for best student’s film, the organizers announced on the festival’s Instagram on Wednesday.

The film tells the story of a desperate man who frantically pleads with strangers to accompany him to his home, without being clear on his intentions.

“Limit” has been screened at numerous international events and has won awards at some of them, including the award for best short fiction at the 10th Southampton Film Week, the Bleedingham Horror Short Film Festival, as well as the award for best drama at the NCCC (Niagara County Community College) Film and Animation Festival in the U.S. state of New York.

The award for best film at the Peekskill Film Festival went to “The Elephant’s Song” directed by Lynn Tomlinson from the U.S. and Stacey Larkins from the U.S. was named best director for her short narrative “Jabari Keating”.
