TEHRAN.(Iranart) - Nima Eghlima’s first feature film “Amir” has been accepted in the 53rd Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic, June 29-July 7.
According to Hollywood Reporter, the film will participate in the festival’s popular and influential East of the West competition section, which features new films from Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia.
This year the section includes a dozen movies that feature 11 debuts and seven films by female directors.
A social drama, Eghlima’s debut directorial work tells the story of Amir who tries to help people around him despite his own problems. It premiered in the 36th Fajr Film Festival in Tehran in February. Sahar Dolatshahi, Hadi Kazemi and Milad Keymaram are in the cast.
