TEHRAN.(Iranart) – H amptons International Film Festival in New York, will kick off the 10th anniversary of its SummerDocs series with a documentary on the legendary American actor and comedian Robin Williams (1951-2014) next month.

According to the festival website, titled “Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind,” the film is set to be screened June 29 and will be followed by a conversation with director Marina Zenovich.

The documentary shows a funny, intimate and heartbreaking portrait of one of the world’s most beloved and inventive comedians Robin Williams.

It takes the viewers through his extraordinary life and career and reveals what drove him to give voice to the characters in his mind. Told largely by Robin himself, with a wealth of never-before-seen footage, and informed by in-depth interviews with those who loved and knew him, the film features Billy Crystal, Eric Idle, Whoopi Goldberg, David Letterman, Steve Martin, Pam Dawber, Zak Williams and many others.

Williams won the 1997 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as psychologist Sean Maguire in “Good Will Hunting”. He also received two Emmy Awards, seven Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and four Grammy Awards throughout his career.

On August 11, 2014, Williams committed suicide at his home in Paradise Cay, California at the age of 63, which his wife attributed to his struggle with Lewy body disease. Lewy bodies are abnormal aggregates of protein that develop inside nerve cells, contributing to Parkinson’s disease and some other disorders.
